The Dr. Allen Finkelstein Scholarship Endowment
On December 4, 2024, the Alpha Omega US Dental Foundation honored Dr. Allen Finkelstein in New York City by establishing a scholarship endowment in his name. The scholarship recognizes seven dental students each year who are committed to advancing oral health in meaningful ways.
The recipients are leading oral health initiatives—through development, research, implementation, or program management—that help students grow into future leaders.
The goal of the endowment is to cultivate the next generation of dental leaders who are dedicated to making a lasting impact on oral health.
Program Details:
Schools will nominate one student who exemplifies exceptional leadership, service, academic achievement, and professional excellence.
Nominated students will have:
- Initiative: The student proactively identifies opportunities and takes action to lead projects or solve problems without needing external prompting.
- Communication Skills: The student clearly conveys ideas, listens attentively, and effectively motivates or influences others.
- Collaboration: The student works cooperatively with peers, fosters teamwork, and contributes positively to group efforts.
- Accountability: The student reliably completes tasks, meets deadlines, and takes responsibility for their actions.
- Ethical Integrity: The student consistently demonstrates honesty, professionalism, and adherence to ethical standards in all activities.
- Problem-Solving Ability: The student approaches challenges thoughtfully and develops practical, innovative solutions.
- Commitment to Community Service: The student shows genuine dedication to serving underserved populations or addressing community needs.
- Adaptability: The student responds well to change, learns from setbacks, and maintains perseverance.
- Vision and Goal-Orientation: The student sets clear, meaningful goals and works strategically to achieve lasting impact.
- Passion for Oral Health/Dentistry and Leadership: The student demonstrates enthusiasm, dedication, and a strong desire to contribute to the field and to leadership roles.
Each selected student will receive a $5,000 scholarship award to be applied toward tuition, academic expenses, or research.
